Public Hearing Notice: to Consider Resolution of Intent to Initiate Dissolution of the Capay, Cottonwood, Knights Landing, and Mary’s Cemetery Districts per Government Code Section 56375.1
Notice is hereby given that on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at 9:00 am, or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard, the Yolo Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCo) will hold a Public Hearing at the Yolo County Board of Supervisors Chambers, 625 Court Street, Room 206, Woodland, CA to consider adoption of a:
RESOLUTION OF INTENT TO INITIATE DISSOLUTION OF THE CAPAY, COTTONWOOD, KNIGHTS LANDING, AND MARY’S PUBLIC CEMETERY DISTRICTS
The hearing will consider initiation of dissolution of the Capay, Cottonwood, Knights Landing, and Mary’s Public Cemetery Districts per Government Code Section 56375.1 due to the districts’ failure to consistently perform timely audits or other minimum financial requirements per Government Code Section 26909. A remediation period of not less than 12 months will be provided where each district may remedy its deficiencies. Findings of the districts’ deficiencies are discussed in the draft Public Cemetery Services Municipal Services Review / Sphere of Influence Update (MSR/SOI) (LAF#25-01). Consideration of adoption of the MSR/SOI was continued from the May 22, 2025 hearing.

Copies of the agenda, staff report, and supporting information will also be available and may be examined at the LAFCo office, located in the Yolo County Administration Building, 625 Court Street, Suite 107, Woodland, CA, and online at www.yololafco.org at least five days prior to the noticed hearing date.
